When this Coconut Grove family purchased their spacious forever home in Miami, it came with a challenge. The previous owners had decorated it in an overly heavy style with black metal sconces, oversized chandeliers, and castle-like furniture. Our mission was to completely reimagine the property into a light and livable coastal boho home with feminine touches that would soften and brighten every corner.
One of the most impactful changes came from swapping all the light fixtures, instantly transforming the mood of the home into something brighter, softer, and more inviting. In the formal living room, we preserved the sweeping garden view, a perfect spot for the family’s future Christmas tree, and created a layout that flows naturally into the dining room, where a custom record display wall pays homage to the clients’ love of music. This unique feature quickly became one of our favorite elements to design and build.
The family room was redefined with the addition of a breakfast nook and a custom built-in banquette, giving real purpose to a once unused corner. Outdoors, the redesign centered around the pool area and backyard oasis, where multiple zones for dining, lounging, and play were layered with cheerful accents in yellow and blue to complement the lush landscaping.
Upstairs, the new office provides an inspiring environment for focus and productivity, while the boys’ bedroom pops with playful blue checkered wallpaper. The primary suite feels expansive yet cozy, a balance of elegance and comfort. We also refreshed the powder room and primary bathroom, ensuring every detail of the home supported both functionality and beauty.
The result is a complete transformation, an elevated yet approachable Coconut Grove interior design project that feels tailored to the family’s lifestyle and infused with warmth, character, and a true sense of belonging.
